Recording:

Recording at Round Table Recording Company is more than a session — it’s a creative partnership. Whether you’re recording your first single or finishing a full project, these answers will help you prepare for a professional, inspiring studio experience.

  • You can book directly through our online booking platform, EngineEars.com by clicking the ‘Book Session’ buttons on our website. If you need assistance, feel free to contact our team and we’ll learn about your project, goals, and timeline so we can recommend the right studio, engineer, and session length.

  • Most artists book 1–3 weeks in advance to ensure they get the date, time, engineer, and studio they want. Larger projects or weekend sessions may require more notice.

  • Yes. Sessions can be scheduled 24/7 depending on studio and engineer availability.

  • Yes, 50% deposits are required to secure your session time. This ensures availability and protects your reserved studio slot.

  • Rates vary depending on studio and project scope. We offer hourly, block rate, and full-day rates.

    Hourly:

    • Studio A: $80/hour

    • Studio B: $75/hour

    • Studio C: $70/hour

    *These rates include an engineer.

    Block Rate (Sessions 5 hours or longer):

    • Studio A: $75/hour

    • Studio B: $70/hour

    • Studio C: $65/hour

  • Yes! We encourage artists to tour the facility, meet the team, and ensure the studio environment aligns with their vision before scheduling.

  • If applicable, bring your instrument, lyrics, session files, reference tracks, and any other creative materials. If you’re recording to a beat, bring the highest quality .WAV file available. We provide professional microphones, instruments, and production tools.

  • Preparation helps you get the most out of your time. The more confident and prepared you are, the more efficient and creative your session will be.

  • Not necessarily. Some artists arrive fully prepared, while others collaborate with our team during the creative process. We can help refine arrangements, production, and performance to get the best result.

  • Yes. Our engineers and producers can help with arrangement, vocal direction, and creative guidance.

  • This depends on the studio room booked. We recommend keeping the group focused and productive. Larger groups can be accommodated with advance notice. Studio A can accommodate up to 6 people, Studio B 4 people, and Studio C 3 people. These numbers reflect the number of people in the control room. 

  • Yes. All recording sessions include a professional engineer who will operate the equipment, manage technical aspects, and ensure the highest sound quality.

  • Yes — RTRC supports collaboration. All sessions include an engineer from our team to operate the studio and ensure proper use of our equipment and workflow. Your engineer is welcome to attend and collaborate creatively, provide direction, and participate in the session. Our in-house engineer remains responsible for operating RTRC equipment, managing session integrity, and ensuring professional studio standards are maintained.

  • Absolutely! We support collaboration and welcome your creative team.

  • Additional time can often be added if available. We recommend scheduling conservatively to avoid interruptions.

  • You’ll receive professionally recorded multitrack session files and/or rough mixes. If you need the track outs from your session, the raw recorded files will be provided with the session files. All plugins are removed from the session to avoid problems with incompatible plugins and to provide full creative flexibility to your final mixing engineer. We can also provide show tracks if you need them. Final mixing and mastering can be completed at RTRC or elsewhere.

  • Yes. We offer full mixing and mastering services so your music is ready for streaming, release, and licensing.

  • Yes. We can help prepare your music for distribution and connect you with next-step services.

  • Yes. We maintain secure backups, but we strongly recommend keeping your own copy as well. Please do not count on us as your only source for storing your music. Life happens so it's in your best interest to retain your own files.


Production:

Production is where your ideas become fully realized records. Our team works alongside you to shape your sound, develop your songs, and create music that reflects your artistic identity.

  • Music production is the process of creating and shaping your song — including melodies, instrumentation, arrangement, recording, and creative direction.

  • Yes. Whether you have lyrics, a voice memo, or just an idea, we can build your song from the ground up.

  • Yes. We can create original custom beats and also offer a beat catalog with ready-to-license instrumentals.

  • Yes. Collaboration is central to our process. We work closely with artists to ensure the final record reflects your creative vision.

  • Timelines vary depending on the scope of the project and revision needs. At RTRC, we follow a collaborative and structured production process designed to bring your vision to life with clarity and intention. From initial discovery and creative direction through production, recording, polishing, mixing, and mastering, each phase is approached with purpose and organization. Our production packages outline different levels of support, allowing you to choose the path that best aligns with your creative goals.

  • We offer 4 different production packages to fit your timeline and budget:

  • Yes. We offer complete production, recording, mixing, and mastering services under one roof.

  • You, the artist, retain ownership of your master recording(s). At RTRC, we also use split sheets and producer agreements to clearly recognize the creative contributions of everyone involved in the process. These agreements ensure that producers, writers, and collaborators receive proper credit for their work while protecting your ownership. This approach reflects our commitment to transparency, fairness, and honoring the collaborative effort behind every record.

RTRC supports music licensing opportunities for artists, filmmakers, agencies, and media creators.

  • Music licensing grants permission for music to be used in films, television, advertising, video games, and other forms of digital media.

  • Yes. We help artists prepare music for licensing opportunities and connect with industry partners.

  • Yes. We create custom music tailored to your project’s creative direction.

  • Ownership and rights can vary depending on the specific opportunity and licensing agreement involved. In the music licensing world, there are many types of relationships — including placements with music supervisors, production houses, co-publishers, and media partners — and each structure offers its own advantages depending on your goals.

    At RTRC, our priority is to work alongside you to identify the most beneficial path for your music. We help you understand your options and pursue licensing opportunities that align with your creative vision, long-term ownership goals, and career growth. Our role is to support both the creative and business sides of your music, ensuring your work is positioned professionally while respecting your contributions as an artist.


Education:

Our education programs prepare students for a career in audio engineering and music production with real-world studio skills.

  • No. Beginners and experienced students are welcome.

  • Yes. Students work directly in our professional studios.

    • Recording Arts Program: A 6-month audio engineering course.

    • Music Production 101 Program: A 3-month beginner music production course.

    • Music Production 201 Program: A 3-month advanced music production course.

  • In the Recording Arts Program, you will learn recording, mixing, mastering, vocal tuning, microphones, studio workflow, ProTools, and engineering fundamentals.

    MPP 101 covers the foundational elements of music production, Logic Pro X, making beats, track-building, and songwriting in a DAW.

    MPP 201 dives deeper into production, pre-production and songwriting techniques, mixing and mastering, music industry and business practices, drum machines, samplers, MIDI, and the integration of live instruments into digital compositions.

  • Yes. The program builds professional skills and real-world experience.

  • Yes. We currently have students from ages 16 to 70+.

  • The Recording Arts Program is a 6-month course.

  • The Music Production Programs are 3-month courses.

  • Our education programs meet once a week for 3 hours at a time. Morning and evening spots are available.

  • We usually take 4-5 students per class. We value a small group environment to ensure you get hands-on experience during class time and one-on-one feedback and attention from our instructors.

  • Our education programs are taught by our team of in-house engineers and producers.

  • We require that students have a Macbook laptop and are willing to purchase the necessary software.

  • The Recording Arts Program is $5,000 with $1,000 of that due as a deposit when registering. Payment plans available if requested.

    The Music Production Programs are $5,000 with $1,000 of that due as a deposit when registering.

  • Yes. We encourage all interested students to book a tour with us to see the studio and ask any questions before registering.

Beat Camp:

Our 3-day Beat Camps bring producers, songwriters, and artists of all experience levels together to collaborate and create original music in a professional studio environment.

  • The weekend includes 14 hours at the studio from Friday to Sunday!

    • 6-9PM on Friday

    • 10AM-5PM on Saturday

    • 9AM-1PM on Sunday

  • We accept any experience level! Whether you are simply a music lover, or an experienced producer and songwriter, this camp is a great way to learn from our team, collaborate with others, and have fun making music!

    • Your laptop if you have one (any DAW, software, or virtual instruments you like to use)

    • Any instruments, drum machines, MIDI controllers, etc. you would like to use (our equipment will also be available)

    • Snacks/water bottle

    • Lunch if you do not want the provided pizza on Saturday

  • $375 for the entire weekend!

podcasting:

We offer professional audio and video podcast recording with expert engineering and studio-quality production.

  • Our Podcast Room is available to book for $45/hour. You can also choose to record in any of our studios.


General:

  • We are located in Broad Ripple Village north of Indianapolis, IN. Our address is 6345 Carrollton Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46220.

  • Our studio operates by appointment only. Sessions can be booked 7 days a week, 24 hours a day depending on availability.

    Our office hours are Monday–Friday from 9am to 5pm.

  • Yes! Free parking is available in our lot in front of and beside the studio, and free street parking is also available nearby.

  • Round Table opened in July of 2020.

  • Round Table has a Studio A, B, and C, as well as a Podcast/Conference Room.

  • Yes. In addition to recording sessions, the studio can be rented for songwriting camps, listening parties, and other creative events.

  • We provide water and other refreshments such as coffee and tea in our kitchen/lounge. You are welcome to bring your own food or have it delivered during your session.

  • Yes. Our studio is wheelchair accessible. If you have any specific accessibility needs, please let us know ahead of your session so we can ensure a comfortable experience.

  • Smoking is not allowed inside the studio. We kindly ask that you step outside.
